"Nihon Keizai Shimbun" recently reported that China's research capabilities in the field of clean energy have jumped significantly. From 2011 to 2020, China published about a quarter of the global total in the number of energy research papers related to decarbonization.

According to the "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" report on the 11th, Dutch academic publishing giant Elsevier analyzed 1.6 million decarbonization-related energy research papers and about 800,000 patents published globally from 2001 to 2020, covering fields Including batteries, renewable energy, energy-saving semiconductors, electric vehicles, nuclear fusion, etc. The analysis found that among the decarbonization-related energy research papers published around the world from 2011 to 2020, Chinese papers accounted for 26.8 percent (340,000 papers), the United States accounted for 15.7 percent (200,000 papers), and Japan accounted for 4.5 percent (57,000 papers). ). China is very active in research on lithium-ion batteries, photocatalysts, wind power and other fields.

Elsevier calculates the paper quality indicators based on the number of citations of the paper, and the United States still leads the way. From 2011 to 2020, China's decarbonization-related energy research paper quality index was 1.531, higher than the world average of 1.437, but lower than the US's 2.023. The quality index of Japanese papers in this field is 1.393, which is lower than the world average.
